Awards of Excellence Ceremony Recap

Last week our award of excellence was received virtually by our CEO, Ian Martin, during an enjoyable program overall. Strathcona County Councilor Linton Delainey was effusive in his praise for our organization, to that point that trying to paraphrase him would be a disservice, so the entire text can be found below, along with the slide deck (advance by clicking on it) from our reception speech. We are excited to keep pushing forwards in our exciting new international ventures, and will keep this space updated with all the latest!

Councilor Delainey’s Speech:

“The first award for Economic Diversification goes to Kevin Kuly and Engage Construction Management and Consulting. Kevin founded Engage in 2012, working out of his truck, local copy shops and Tim Hortons’. With his boundless energy and unending work ethic, Engage was able to sign a lease for office space in Sherwood Park, where it resides to this day.

Kevin has nurtured a group of best-in-class construction professionals and built a culture in which they can respectfully challenge and push each other to be the best they can to deliver value to their clients. For this reason, Engage doesn’t consider a project a success unless they receive a glowing reference from their client. To date, they have received such a reference from all but two clients.

This culture of outstanding performance extends beyond the office. Engage employees bring the same passion for quality to their community. They are heavily involved in local charities, coaching sports teams and participating in local social, arts and culture, and health-related activities in the community.

This commitment to excellence has resulted in Engage executing projects across Canada. Yet Kevin is committed to thinking local. He employs local professionals, maintains his offices in the county, lives in the community and supports local businesses and charities. As a result, he has brought a lot of wealth and opportunities back to Strathcona County and the neighbouring communities.

Even as the effects of COVID-19 and a sluggish economy have reduced Engage’s backlog, Kevin has worked tirelessly with his international connections to diversify Engage, recently being hired to lead Canadian operations for a global project developer on a massive infrastructure project. This project diversifies and compliments Engage’s base business and prepares it for years of sustained growth. It will also bring in billions of dollars of foreign capital into the Alberta and local economy. We are pleased to present Kevin Kuly the Economic Diversification Award on behalf of Engage Construction Management and Consulting.”
